Happy Sunday to You!  Today I have one of cards from the June Technique Club where we covered different techniques to use Watercolouring in our projects.  Here is my High Tide Watercolour Wash card …

Watercolour Wash

This is such a fun and easy technique to do and each time your result will be a little different.   All you need is Watercolour Paper,  an Aqua Painter and Ink.

Here’s how you create a Watercolour Wash …

  1. Using your Aqua Painter paint your Watercolour Paper with water so it’s all wet.
  2. Pop a drop or two of Ink Refill into a pallete or saucer. Drop a couple drops of water in and mix with ink to water it down.   When you have the desired tone ‘wash’ this colour on your watercolour paper.   If you want a darker colour add more Ink Refill.
  3. Do this for each colour you want in your background.
  4. Leave to dry before stamping or speed up the drying process with the lower setting of your heat tool.

Watercolour Wash Tips …

  • For a more intense tone of your wash add more of the Ink Refill
  • Be sure to ‘wash out’ your brush between colours
  • If your paper curls as it dries use the lower setting on your Heat Tool to dry from underneath as this will flatten out your paper.

The colours I’ve used in my wash are Soft Suede for the sand and Balmy Blue for the Sky.  The sun/moon is stamped in Balmy Blue and the Sandpipers, grass and sentiment are stamped in Early Espresso.

If you’d like to learn more about Watercolouring please let me know and we can arrange a private class in August.  It can be a one on one class or a class with you and your friends.  It’s lots of fun and gives you more ways to use your inks and supplies in your projects.

You can also get my Class Handout for free by placing a $50 – just let me know you’d like it once you’ve placed your order and I’ll send it to you!

Thanks so much for stopping by and see you latte ..
